Why We Switched to Credits
When we launched ContractRev, pricing was simple: Free users got 1 review per month, Pro got 30, Ultimate was unlimited. But as we added more features — like role-based risk analysis and credit packs — things got confusing.
Why does a full contract review count as 1 review, but a role analysis also counts as 1? If you buy a 5-pack, how does that compare to the monthly plan? The math wasn't adding up.
So we stepped back and asked: what's the simplest possible unit of value on ContractRev? The answer: a single AI analysis. Whether it's checking one clause from a tenant's perspective or reviewing an entire NDA — each analysis consumes a certain number of credits based on the work involved.
How the Credit System Works
Everything on ContractRev now runs on one currency: credits.
- 1 full contract review = 3 credits. Upload a contract, get a complete AI risk report with scores, clause-by-clause findings, recommendations, and a revised DOCX.
- 1 role-based clause check = 1 credit. Paste contract text, pick a role (Tenant, Buyer, Freelancer, etc.), and get a targeted analysis from that perspective.
- Every new user starts with 3 free credits — no sign-up required.
💡 Tip: Credits from your monthly plan refresh every billing cycle. Credits from one-time packs are valid for 6 months and stack on top of your plan — packs are consumed first, so your monthly credits last longer.

All plan limits are now expressed in credits per month:
Free — 3 credits/month (1 full review or 3 role checks)
Pro — 90 credits/month, $9.99/mo or $79/yr (~30 full reviews, or mix and match)
Ultimate — unlimited credits, $19.99/mo or $159/yr
Need extra credits without a subscription? One-time packs:
- Starter Pack — 15 credits, $4.99
- Plus Pack — 45 credits, $9.99 (best value for small businesses)
- Pro Pack — 90 credits, $16.99 (best per-credit price)
What This Means for You
If you're an existing user: your plan hasn't changed — we just multiplied the numbers by 3. Free users had 1 review/month, now they have 3 credits/month (still 1 full review). Pro users had 30 reviews/month, now 90 credits/month (still ~30 reviews). If you have remaining credit pack credits, they've been multiplied by 3 automatically.
